Metallica's Lars Ulrich surprises fans at SF Food Bank

Metallica drummer and Bay Area resident Lars Ulrich made a surprise appearance with Metallica fans who volunteered at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank in San Francisco, Calif. on May 22, 2019. The band’s nonprofit All Within My Hands Foundation encouraged fans to volunteer at 50 food banks around the country.

Before the fans arrived Ulrich was shown around the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank by Executive Director Paul Ash.

The fans, who came to volunteer, were the 150 lucky chosen to help out at the event.

It was pretty amazing to see them all working together to tackle the huge project.  It was quite a feat!

After saying hello Ulrich also took a group photo with the fans.

Bay to Breakers 2019

Once again it's time for that only in San Francisco event: Bay to Breakers.
I covered it again for the SFGate, and we wanted to capture all the energy, zaniness, and incredible costumes on display at the road race.

It is one of my favorite events to photograph.
It is an event that expects you to get involved.
But there are plenty of spectators as well.

You never know what you will see...

Make sure to be responsible...
and have some fun!

US Women's National Team vs. South Africa

The US Women's National Team started its send-off series for the Women's World Cup playing a friendly against South Africa at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

Fans of all ages were excited to see the team play before they make the trip to France to defend their title.

The fans cheered the whole game.

And got to say hello to Carli Lloyd.
